The Constitution has points in Chapter II under the heading "Handing On Divine Revelation".

There is a close connection between sacred Tradition and sacred Scripture. Both of them are flowing from the same divine wellspring and merging into a unity.Sacred tradition takes the word of God given to them by Christ the Lord and the Holyspirit to the Apostles, and gives it to their successors in its full purity, so that led.The Church draws her certainty about everything that has been revealed from Sacred Scripture alone. Both sacred tradition and Sacred Scripture are to be venerated with the same sense of loyalty and reverence.[4]

The Word of God is transmitted both through the texts of Sacred Scripture and through Sacred Tradition, which includes various forms such as liturgy, prayers, and the teachings of the Apostles and their successors.Tradition is a protection against private interpretation that the Church looks to.[5]

The teaching of the Magisterium is devoted to biblical interpretation. There are two levels of meaning, theliteral sense intended by the biblical writers and the further understanding that may be attained due to context within the whole of Scripture.[5]

The Constitution states "Sacred Scripture, Its Inspiration and Divine Interpretation" in Chapter III.

11.The realities contained and presented in Sacred Scripture have been committed to writing. The Church relies on the belief of the Apostles.John and 2 Tim.The books of the Old and New Testaments are sacred because they have God as their author and have been handed on as such. They used their powers and abilities so that with Him acting in them and through them, they, as true authors, consigned to writing everything and only those things which He gave them. The books of Scripture must be acknowledged as teaching solidly, faithfully and without error because God wanted them to be put into sacred writings for the sake of truth."All Scripture has its use for teaching the truth and refuting error, for reformation of manners and discipline in right living, so that the man who belongs to God may be efficient and equipped for good work of every kind", says the Bible. The text is Greek.

There are 12.The interpreter of Sacred Scripture should carefully investigate what meaning the sacred writers really intended, and what God wanted to manifest by means of their words, since God speaks through men in human fashion.

To find out the intentions of the sacred writers, attention should be given to "literary forms".In texts which are historical, prophetic, poetic, or of other forms of discourse, truth is set forth and expressed differently. The interpreter needs to use contemporary literary forms in accordance with the situation of the sacred writer's own time and culture.Due attention must be paid to the customary and characteristic styles of feeling, speaking and narrating which prevailed at the time of the sacred writer, and the patterns men normally employed at that period in their everyday dealings with one another. If the meaning of the sacred texts is to be correctly worked out, serious attention must be given to the content and unity of Scripture. The living tradition of the whole Church must be taken into account. The work of exegetes is to understand and explain the meaning of Sacred Scripture so that the judgment of the Church may mature. The ministry of guarding and interpreting the word of God is subject to the judgment of the Church, which is what has been said about the way of interpreting Scripture. There are no comments at this time.

13The "condescension" of eternal wisdom is shown in Sacred Scripture, which shows how far God has gone in adapting his language with thoughtful thought. For the words of God, expressed in human language, have been made like human discourse, just as the word of the eternal Father, when He took to Himself the flesh of human weakness, was.

The saying that the New Testament is hidden in the Old is affirmed in Chapter IV.[16]

18.The Gospels are the principal witness for the life and teaching of the incarnate Word in the New Testament.

The four Gospels are the origin of the Church. After the Apostles preached in fulfillment of the commission of Christ, they themselves and apostolic men were given in writing the foundation of faith.[17]

19Holy Mother Church has firmly and with absolute constancy held, and continues to hold, that the four Gospels just named, whose historical character the Church unhesitatingly asserts, faithfully hand on what Jesus Christ, while living among men, really did and taught for their eternal salvation until the dayThe Apostles gave their hearers what the Lord had said and done. After being instructed by the glorious events of Christ's life, the sacred authors wrote the four Gospels, selecting some things from the many which had been handed on.[21]

All Christians should have easy access to Sacred Scripture. The Church sees to it that suitable and correct translations are made into different languages, especially from the original texts of the sacred books.Frequent reading of the divine Scriptures is encouraged for all the Christian faithful, so that God and man may talk together. Some are ordination to preach the Word while others reveal Christ in the way they live and interact.[ 24]

The conservative theology of the Holy Office was reflected in the draft document prepared for the first council session. The final document was based on the preparation of a new draft which was assigned to a mixed commission of conservatives and progressives.[25]

The new view of tradition, the theological problem of the application of historical methods to the interpretation of Scripture and the biblical movement were all identified by Joseph Ratzinger.[28]

The brief form of the Preface and the barely concealed illogicalities that it contains betray clearly the confusion that has emerged.[29]

The Catechism states that the books of Scripture teach the truth which God wanted to show to the Sacred Scriptures.[30]

The Catechism states that the Christian faith is not a religion of the book.Christianity is the religion of the 'Word' of God, a word which is 'not a written and silent word, but the Word is incarnate and living'.Christ, the eternal Word of the living God, must open our minds to understand the Scriptures if they are not to remain a dead letter.[31]
