Payment can be made by credit card, debit card or cash. Cash is accepted for pickup and van rentals. However, a valid credit or debit card with a major credit card logo will also need to be presented in the name of the renter.
How much does U-Haul hold on debit card?
While you do need a card on file to reserve online or by phone, you can reserve in person with cash. However, cash payments require a deposit — $100 for in-town rentals (or the estimated charges, whichever is greater) and $100 plus the rental rate for one-way moves.
What kind of cards does U-Haul take?
You need a credit card to make a reservation and paying for a rental (select locations may accept cash-check with the manager). UHaul accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa. You may use a debit card with either a MasterCard or Visa logo.
Can I rent a moving truck with a debit card?
As you probably know, most truck rental companies require a debit or credit card in order to pick up a vehicle, but yeah! It is possible to rent a truck without a credit card. You can reserve the truck and pay your final rental costs with cash.
Can I use a prepaid card at uhaul?
Yes you can. I had my license suspended before and was still able to get a u-haul. They do not do an mvr. As long as you have the license card you can get a truck.
Can you rent a Uhaul with just a debit card?

Does U-Haul hold money?
U-Haul places a hold on your account on all local moves. Once you return your equipment and we have an exact amount to charge your account we use the amount held to collect the total amount due.
Does U-Haul charge you before or after?
The total estimated charges for your rental are due when you pick up your equipment. No deposit is required if paying by major credit card, or debit card with a major credit card logo. If paying by cash, the following is due when you pick up your equipment.
What happens if you can't pay U-Haul?
You will be asked to sign a promissory note. This is essentially a legal document that allows them to go after you for the money but allows you to leave without actually paying for your rental. Until you satisfied the promisory note amount, You will be unable to rent from U-Haul nor anybody associated with you.
Is a credit card required to rent a U-Haul truck?

How long does U-Haul hold deposit?
