When did SunTour close?
SunTour went out of business in the 1990s, but the company still is fondly remembered by many cyclists today. Now Hideki Sasaki has added new books on SunTour to his “Derailleurs of the World” series. These books are the most complete catalogues of classic derailleurs.18 Oct 2016
Are SunTour components any good?
That said, they do make some decent stuff, nothing top end mind you but their parts at the low end spectrum of bikes work pretty much as well as their more known counter parts (Shimano and SRAM).31 Mar 2011
Is SunTour a good fork brand?
The higher-level Suntour forks and shocks are very good. Don't judge them by the bottom budget forks. I'd actually put them up there with Fox and RS on quality.17 Sept 2018
Is SR SunTour any good?
Suspension products are getting so damn good that they can leave little to be desired. They are lightweight, reliable and built for abuse. Overall, the performance is stunning—offering fantastic damping characteristics while taking advantage of the weight saving and bottom out resistant benefits of air springs.
Why are SR SunTour forks any good?
Our review SR Suntour's Durolux fork is a feature-packed, budget front suspension option that's improved over the years. Is the SR Suntour XCR a good fork?
Excellent fork, saved a few ounces from the factory one. Very smooth ride and takes a beating. I don't do any hardcore trails but do ride off road quite a bit and for a big guy (260lbs) this shock works perfectly! Good product, well made and easy to set up.
Why did SunTour go out of business?
It too several years for SunTour to catch up, by which time it was too late. During its years of derailleur domination, SunTour also made what would turn out to be a disastrous business decision.
