Gummy vitamins taste like candy, but they are full of essential vitamins your body needs to stay active, healthy, and happy. Many brands have developed fun flavors and varieties for children and adults alike, as they've recently grown in popularity. They're popular with people who struggle to swallow pills or who don't like traditional supplements.Serena Poon, a celebrity chef and certified nutritionist, explains that these nibbles usually contain a mixture of vitamins and minerals. The chances of your doctor telling you to eat ten of them a day are slim.Too many people go too far when eating gummy vitamins because of their easy-to- eat form.
Poon talks about what happens when you eat too many gummy vitamins. Here's The One Vitamins Doctors are urging everyone to take right now.
If you consume more than the recommended value of vitamins, they can be toxic. She says fat-soluble vitamins, such as vitamins A, D, E, and K, drive the most concern for overdose. Some vitamins can cause health problems in excessive amounts.
If your body doesn't need vitamins like the ones above, they will be eliminated through your urine. It's possible that your urine will turn bright yellow after you take a supplement.Since your system seems to be getting everything it needs through your diet, it's a waste of money.
"Especially if you are eating a diet full of vegetables, fruits, and wholesome ingredients," says Poon.To find the supplements that will support your unique constitution, I recommend checking your vitamins with a doctor and working with them to find them.
Gummy vitamins are popular because they're sweet. To give them that flavor, sugar has to be added.According to Poon, the average single gummy has two grams of sugar. The daily recommended sugar intake for women is 24 grams and 38 grams for men, if you have pop six gummies as a snack, it adds up.
"Consuming too much added sugar could lead to weight gain, inflammation, chronic disease, heart problems, and more," says Poon.
Gummy vitamins are difficult to make consistently because of their ingredients and texture. She says that one study by Consumer Lab found that gummy supplements did not contain the number of vitamins listed.
"They note that it is common for vitamins to degrade in the gummies over time, leaving some brands to overcompensate or for them to contain less than stated," says Poon.
Poon recommends taking a traditional pill or supplement if you have a deficiency.
Gummy vitamins can cause irritation to your bicyle.Poon says that consuming too much Vitamin C can cause nausea and vomiting.
Gummies have a high percentage of sugar alcohol, which decreases the amount of added sugar without sacrificing the taste.
