Product Description. The Polyetherimide sheet comes with 3M 468MP adhesive already laminated to the PEI. Apply the PEI with slight pressure and at an angle to prevent and minimize air bubbles.
What is PEI steel?
Polyetherimide, more commonly known in its abbreviated form PEI, is a “relatively maintenance free” build surface that can be used for all types of filament on a heated or unheated print bed. PEI requires “no-surface-prep” before use, which makes it very convenient to work with.
What is PEI coating?
PEI (Polyetherimide), also known as Ultem, is a reusable "relatively maintenance free" build surface for both ABS (with a Heated Bed) and PLA (hot or cold) requiring no additional adhesives such as glue or tape. PEI is appealing due to its "no-surface-prep" conditions, which make it convenient to work with.Jul 4, 2018
What is PEI spring steel?
Spring Steel Sheets are great alternatives for 3D printing surfaces. These sheets have a 0.1mm PEI sticker (single-side) for the best first layer adheasion and easy part removal when cooled. The flexibility of spring steel sheets make it easier to remove from magnetic beds and pop prints off the PEI surface.
How do you clean BuildTak?
To clean the BuildTak of your 3D printer, you will only need warm water or isopropyl alcohol, applied any of these on to a soft cloth and rub the area softly to clean it from any residue. It is particularly important to avoid soap or other cleaning products as these can damage the surface.
What is BuildTak made of?
FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy) analysis of the BuildTak surface suggests the product is composed of an unfilled Polycarbonate (AKA lots of love and sugar).
Does nylon stick to BuildTak?

How do you stick to PEI sheets?
PEI sheet as a build plate requires little to no surface preparation. Printed parts adhere extremely well to the build surface making the use of kapton tape, blue tape, hairspray, or glue sticks unnecessary. Typically, even printing brims or rafts is unnecessary.
Can you use glue stick PEI?
Yes, glue stick, hairspray, talcum powder, etc is a release agent not a gripping agent so don't get confused by people who say to put glue stick on your PEI to add grip, that just means their surface isn't prepped properly and the plastic is adhering better to that glue than the PEI.Jul 8, 2018
Are PEI sheets reusable?
PEI Ultem (Polyetherimide) from Prima Filaments is a reusable, relatively maintenance free, build surface for better adhesion and less warping. Use it for ABS (with a heated bed) and PLA (hot or cold). You can use it for other materials such as Metal, Wood, PETG, ABS+ and many others, too.
