Why does my laundry center have a malfunctioning washer?
My washer dryer was malfunctioning at our cabin.Couldn't figure it out.No pattern of 1 or a few beeps. The date of manufacture is 2/16.We have not used it more than 20 times.
Push in or turn the knob to wake the washer. You will hear three short noises when the washer is ready to use.Push the knob to start the cycle after making your selections. The washer lid will lock if you hear a short beep.
If the washer isn't in use, the cycle switch has to be pulled out or placed in the home position. It might be a reminder that it is ready to leave.
There may be intermittent interruptions to the power supply if it is random and not in a time pattern.
Depending on where you are, there is either a single or 2 x 120V power feed. You may be able to connect to another power outlet that uses a different fuse if it is a 240V power feed.If it is a 2 x 120V supply, you can't try this because the power outlet that the washer is connected to is specifically wired for it.The power box has a washer in it.
If the power cord is really annoying, you should only plug it in when you want to use it.The beeps should be stopped by that.Over 12 months it can add up and reduce your power bill.A lot of appliances draw a small amount of power when stopped but not turned off at the outlet. The power is always on.I believe that your unit will use power when not in use because it can be turned on by turning any option knob to wake it.Power on/off switches are usually not power on option knobs.
There is no explanation in the online manual of what it is for or why it would do this.
The manual states that if the washer is off, it will sound three times before you press the cycle switch in to start the wash.
Maybe it's a power flick from the mains power supply that is the problem, as the combo unit is in a standby state rather than turned off.The washer won't start because the cycle switch is not pushed in, even though the power is on again.
If it still happens, try to turn off the one breaker to the dryer and then turn the other on if the problem persists. It shouldn't happen when the washer is not in the dryer.
