Wrap pants.

Wrap pants are casual pants that you put on by wrapping them around your waist and securing them in the front and back.Wrap pants can be made out of any type of fabric you choose, but stretchy or lightweight is a great option.Wrap pants are easy to make.If you know how to sew, you can make a pair of wrap pants in 10 minutes.Try sewing a pair of pants for a friend. Step 1: Purchase 2 yards of stretchy fabric. Wrap pants can be made with stretchy fabric because it will conform to your curves and have a nice flowing look.If you use a stretchy fabric, such as jersey, you can eliminate the need to hem your pants. If you prefer a non-stretchy fabric, you can use it.Non-stretchy fabrics may result in an open area on the sides of your legs because the fabric will stretch to wrap around your curves. Step 2: You can get a pair of shoelaces or 2 yards of ribbon. Wrap pants can be secured by tying them around your waist in the front and back with shoelaces or ribbon pieces. You will need a pair of shoelaces or ribbon to make 4 pieces. For a fabric that includes pink in the print, choose a strong ribbon that matches the colors in your fabric. Step 3: You can find a pair of leggings or stretch pants. Wrap pants are so easy to make that you don't need a pattern. You can use a pair of leggings. You can place them over the crotch and waist by folding them in half. The easiest way to get a good fit is this. Step 4: The right side of the fabric should be facing each other. Place your fabric on a clean surface, such as a table or the floor. The fabric should be folded so that the edges match up.Make sure the fabric is flat on the surface.Place heavy objects on the corners of the silk or slippery fabric if you are working with it.You can keep the fabric in place while you work. Step 5: Go through the fold. At this point, there should be one fold in the fabric. To divide a single piece of fabric into 2 equal-sized pieces, cut along the fold.If you are not hemming them, cut the edges cleanly. To cut along the fold, do not use dull scissors. Step 6: The fabric should be folded in half. The 2 pieces of fabric should be folded in half.Match the edges of the fabric. As you do this, hold the 2 pieces together. The crotch area of the pants can be created by folding the fabric. Step 7: The crotch of the leggings should be lined up with the folded fabric. The crotch matches up with the top edge of the fabric when the leggings are unfolded.Line up the crotch of the leggings with the folded fabric. Step 8: Cut around the edges of the leggings Make sure that the crotch area of the leggings is on your fabric.Cut around the edges of the waistband leaving a small amount of fabric around all of them.Clean cuts can be made with a sharp pair of scissors. Step 9: Unfold the fabric. After you open the fabric, cut along the outside of the leggings. There should be a cut through the fabric.Align the edges of the fabric after you remove the fold.To make sure the edges of the fabric are flush with each other, check the raw edges. Step 10: The U-shaped area has two layers of fabric along the edges. Put pins through the 2 layers of fabric along the U-shape to hold them together while you sew.The pins should be put out by about 2 to 3 inches. The pins should go from the outer edges of the fabric to the inner edges. It will be easier to remove them as you sew.Make sure your fabric pieces are facing each other. The edges of the seam will be hidden. Step 11: A straight stitch is used. Start sewing at the corner of the U-shape and move all the way around the curve.Put the 2 layers of fabric under the presser foot of the sewing machine.Press on the pedal to start the machine.Don't stretch the fabric too much.If you don't know how to set your sewing machine to straight stitch, check the instruction manual.Number 1 is the default setting on most sewing machines. If you want, you can hand sew the straight stitch. The time it takes to make the pants wrap will be extended by this. When threading a needle with a strand of thread, tug the end of the thread until it is even with the other end.Attach the threaded needle to the 2 layers of fabric along the edge of the U-shape.Make sure to keep the stitches close to the edges of the fabric. For the best results, the stitches should be close together.Try sewing a straight line with a running stitch. The needle should be inserted into the fabric on one side and out on the other side. The stitch starts from the opposite side of the fabric.Continue across the U-shape. Step 12: Hem The print side should be facing down if you open up the fabric.Next, fold over the edges of the fabric on all sides.Place pins through the folded fabric to hold it in place. Then, sew a straight stitch from the edges of the folded fabric to the hem.If you don't hem the non-stretchy fabric, it will fray. Before you attach the ribbon or shoelaces, make sure that you create a hem around the edges of the non-stretchy fabric you are using. Step 13: Take the shoelaces or ribbon and divide them into 4 equal-sized pieces. You can secure the wrap pants on your body with these pieces.Make a cut in the center of the laces or ribbon to divide them in half. You can cut both pieces at the same time if you are using shoelaces. If you are using ribbon, make a cut in the middle of the 2 pieces to get 4 equal-sized pieces. Each piece should be small. To make these cuts, use a sharp pair of scissors. This will make sure that you don't end up with damaged ends. Step 14: Attach the shoelaces or ribbon to the outer corners of the fabric. The shoelaces or ribbon should be pinned to the corner of the fabric that is outside the U-shaped area.Place the end of the ribbon or shoelace so that it is inside the fabric on both sides. The end will be secured when you sew it.This is how to do the other 3 pieces of shoelace. Step 15: The shoelaces should be sewed to the fabric. To secure it, use a sewing machine or threaded needle to sew back and forth across the shoelace or ribbon end.You can sew in a diagonal line across the corner where the shoelace or ribbon end overlaps your fabric and then sew across in the opposite direction to create an X stitch. This will hold the ribbon in place. This can be done for the other corners as well.If you sew across the pin, you may damage your machine.Pull out the pin before sewing the rest of the way if you want to tack down the ribbon. Step 16: Try on the pants! 2 ribbons or shoelaces attached to the same piece of fabric are needed to put the pants on.Tie the fabric around your waist. The print side of the fabric should be facing out.Take the rest of the fabric between your legs and over your hips.To tie this piece around your waist, use the other 2 pieces of ribbon or shoelace. This will hold the pants in place.
