Islam has very simple guidelines as to how an Islamic funeral should be conducted. The four parts of an Islamic funeral are bathing, enshrouding, praying for, and burying the deceased.
Step 1: Begin with istinja.
The private parts are being washed. The body needs to be cleaned if urine or stool has been removed. The front and back of the body should be washed with water and a cloth. The part between the knees and the navel must be covered after this. This is also known as a satr of a man.The part of the body that is nude.
Step 2: Wudu should be done.
The washer needs to wash the corpse. The accepted method is to wipe the mouth and nose with water, then wash the face, arms, and ears.
Step 3: The water should be poured over the head.
Black magic can be cured by using lotus leaves. The water should be poured over the right and left sides of the body.camphor should be added to the water when the body is washed. The perfume strengthens the body and gives it a nice scent. It's better to wash the body three, five or seven times.
Step 4: The body should be wrapped in a cotton cloth.
The material, style and colour of the cloth varies from region to region, but the shroud should be simple and modest. The kafan cannot be made from silk for men.The kafan must come from the family or wealth of the deceased. The kafan doesn't need to be soaked in water or have a Qur'an verse written on it.
Step 5: Only three pieces of cloth can be used.
The three main sheets are kamis, which covers from shoulder to below the knees and must have a hole large enough for the head to fit through.
Step 6: The shroud should be perfumed with incense three times.
The Prophet said to burn incense by your dead three times.
Step 7: As soon as possible, arrange the janazah salah.
The prayer must be arranged in order for the body to be buried.Only mahram women can see the face of the deceased male.
Step 8: Inform other people about the time and date of the funeral prayer.
When a Muslim dies, other Muslims attend his funeral. There is a funeral prayer. The obligation of the community is to attend the funeral, even if a few people don't.A child born dead, aborted after the fourth month, or who dies before puberty does not have to have a funeral prayer because the Prophet did not do so for his own son.A child aborted before the fourth month does not need a funeral prayer because it doesn't have a soul that can be prayed for.
Step 9: As a congregation, offer the funeral prayer.
Delaying the prayer will allow more people to come."Any Muslim who dies and three rows of Muslims make salah for him, will be forgiven," according to a Hadith."
Step 10: The funeral prayer can be offered outside.
This was the usual practice of the Prophet, but he also prayed inside the mosque. The funeral prayer can't be prayed between the graves.
Step 11: Don't perform the prayer when the sun is setting or when it is rising.
It can be done at any time.
Step 12: The male's head and shoulders should be level with the imam.
He must be level with the female's abdomen. One prayer can be made for all of the deceased. If there are both male and female dead, the female must be placed in front of the imam.
Step 13: The usual rules of prayer must be followed.
The direction of Ka'bah and facing the Qibla are included. There is nobowing down or sujud. The prayer is standing up.
Step 14: Before beginning the prayer, make the intention of janazah salah.
It can be done in the heart. The Prophet didn't say the intention aloud.
Step 15: Say Allahu Akbar while raising your hands.
Then, put your right hand over the left one.The du'a that you normally recite is "Glory be to you, O Lord, and all Praises are due unto you"
Step 16: For the second time, raise your hands.
Send blessings on the Prophet Muhammad and praise Allah.
Step 17: For the third time, raise your hands.
The funeral du'a should be said this time. This is different for the deceased. For an adult man or woman, say the du'a, "O God, forgive our living and our dead, those who are present among us and those that are absent."Whoever you keep alive, and whoever you cause to die, will die with faith. For a boy, say the du'a.Make this child a source of salvation and reward and treasure for us so that we can use him as an intercessor. For a girl, say the du'a.She will be an intercessor for us and one whose intercession is accepted, if Allah makes her a source of salvation.
Step 18: For the fourth time, raise your hands.
Salaam is made after a short pause. You can say "peace and blessings of God be unto you" if you turn your head to the right.
Step 19: The correct measurement of the deceased should be taken into account when digging a grave.
The deceased being unable to fit into the grave is one of the problems that this is done to avoid. This prevents wild animals from being attracted to odors. The location and position of marked graves don't change if you have the correct measurements.
Step 20: Make sure the body is in line with the direction of the Ka'bah.
The face should be turned to the right.Place the body in the grave and say "In the name of Allah"
Step 21: The grave should be closed with pieces of timber.
The earth won't be put on the body when the grave is filled with earth.
Step 22: The grave should be covered with sand.
Put three handfuls of sand in the grave. After one throw, return you into it, and after the second and third, we will raise you a second time. The grave is usually recognised by a headstone. It is the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) to make his resting place cool and make Jannah his home by sprinkling water over his grave.
Step 23: Provide comfort to the family of the deceased.
It is desirable to give food for a day and a night to the grieving family. When comforting, say, "May Almighty Allah bless you greatly, and may He give you something in change of your sadness and forgiveness of the deceased".
Step 24: Don't decorate or improve yourself.
This is called sawg.It is compulsory for women to be in sawg after the death of their husband. The 'iddah period is for four months and ten days, not the three months for a woman who divorces her husband. It is haraam to wear bright make-up for adornment, oil the hair, use perfume, and wear gold.Women are free to marry again after the 'iddah period.
Step 25: You can visit the grave.
It's better to visit the grave on Fridays. When entering the graveyard, you must be clean.Don't stand at the head of the grave. If Allah wins, we will unite with you, the dwellers of the grave, a group of believers. We are praying for our and Allah's harmony."O Allah, do not deprive us from his reward and after him, don't test us and forgive all of us, and with them, have mercy on us."Do not look at the grave. The direction of the Ka'bah is the Qibla. It is against the law to seek the help of the dead.It is a major act of shirk and makes one a disbeliever. You can only request things from the living. You can't ask someone to give you Paradise.
