The patron of meditation and yoga is Shiva, one of the principal deities in Hinduism.Shiva is considered to be the master of destruction, creation, and regeneration. He can be visualized as many incarnations as he is formless. The blessings, the ego sacrificer, and the dancer are included.Meditating on Shiva is a way of coming to your own truest self and of awakening the third eye.You can learn how to meditate on Shiva through breathing, visualization and chanting.
Step 1: Prepare your space so that you can meditate.
Eliminate distraction by turning off your television and cell phone. You can use a space in which you don't have to complete tasks.Between twenty minutes and a couple hours is the ideal time to meditate, depending on your abilities and preferences. It is advisable to wear clothes that are comfortable for your space's temperature. It is important to avoid being distracted by being too hot or too cold.Birds chirp, cars drive by, and other sounds interrupt your meditation.Being aware of the world can be beneficial to meditation. If you live by a subway stop or train track where noise is dominating your thoughts, you should consider putting on music or a mantra recording, both of which are available on Youtube and other services.
Step 2: You should stretch your body.
As you sit still to meditate, you should stretch yourself out. Before meditating, stretch your legs, hips, back, shoulders, and neck.Hold your legs out straight in front of you and reach for your toes to stretch them.Bring the soles of your feet together while sitting to stretch your legs.
Step 3: There is a comfortable position to sit in.
When meditating, one usually sits in a seated, cross-legged position.Only if it is comfortable for you to sit cross-legged for an extended period of time, and hold your back upright, unbowed, but not unnaturally straight. If you can't sit cross-legged without being uncomfortable, consider sitting in a chair or with your back braced by a wall. It's important to wear clothes that allow you to sit still.Tension in your body can distract you.If you're just starting to meditate, it's important to find a comfortable body position. It's best to sit on a yoga mat, cushion, or blanket.
Step 4: Your breathing needs to be established.
Begin your meditation with breathing techniques.Be aware of your breathing and use it to your advantage.Hold for four and exhale as you count to four.Use your awareness on your breath to clear your mind.Light flows through your body as life fills you.Imagine a point where your in- and out-breath work together.visualize a universal pause in which your self disappears and you focus on yourterconnectedness with everything around you, as you exhale and your breath is out completely.
Step 5: Think of Shiva as the winner.
Images of Shiva will guide your meditation.Shiva is the Yogi. The fists are near your head.Think of a goal or intention.I am a winner.I made it to my goal. You can name your goal.A goal could be to complete a project or improve a relationship with a friend or family member.Being more present at work, interacting with others, or being more honest with yourself could be your goal.
Step 6: See the strength of Shiva.
With your next visualization, envision yourself as the strong Shiva.Rub your feet on the ground while sitting.Take a look at the peaks of Mount Meru.I am sitting on the Mount Meru.I don't get angry in pain.I'm going with determination.Mount Meru is a sacred mountain in Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. The mountain is located in northern India.
Step 7: Become egoless by imagining Shiva.
Make circles with your hands.Take a look at the universe, stars, and their interconnectedness.I live in the great system of the universe.I take things as they are.
Step 8: Meditate on Shiva.
Take a look at the Kundalini Serpent.Think of your power within your core.If you want to see the Kundalini uncoiling from your lower spine to your head, you have to twist your spine.Think to yourself, "I am a Hatha Yogi."I use my spiritual exercises to save myself. The power of the Kundalini is thought of as a coiled serpent to be awakened. As it is awakened through meditation, chanting, yoga, and other spiritual practices, it rises from the base of your spine.
Step 9: Think of Shiva as the karma-yogi.
Become Shiva the Good, who works for a happy world. With an upward- and outward-facing palm, extend your hand.Send all beings light by focusing on your good intentions.Say out loud or think, "I send light” and say a specific name or intention.May all beings be happy.May the world be happy.
Step 10: Understand how sound works.
You are merging with that deity's being when you chant or utter the name of a deity. You experience the divine when you utter a divine name. You should respect and understand the meaning of any mantra you speak.
Step 11: Shiva is the Master Yogi.
In front of your heart chakra, hold your palms together.Take a picture of the sky above you.Say, "Salutations to all enlightened Masters."It's Om inner wisdom. Please help me on my way."Aum" is the sacred sound associated with the universe.Everything sustains it.To enunciate the "Ah" sound, first open your mouth wide and imagine the universe's creative moment as if the Om were speaking you, rather than you speaking the sound. The "Mmm" component has a slight "ng" aspect to its pronunciation, so begin to purse the lips and stretch the sound into it.Touch the roof of your mouth with your tongue to symbolize the end of creation.
Step 12: The chant is "Om Namah Shivaya."
Concentrating on a picture of Shiva is helpful while chanting.Take the energy from Shiva by moving one hand outward.Say out loud or think to yourself the Sanskrit phrase, "I bow to Shiva" or " I connect myself with Shiva," and use a recording to help you with pronunciation.Say and repeat "Shivo Ham," or "I am Shiva," and feel how the energy of Shiva flows through you.
Step 13: Take a break from your meditation.
Put your hands in your lap.Say out loud or think about it.For at least a minute, repeat Om Peace. You can feel it from your belly. If you want to stop chanting, just sit and not think.Sit without thinking for a while and keep your spine straight.Relax and breathe slowly, but without being aware of your breaths.Think of yourself as Shiva the Dancer. As you complete your meditation, imagine light and blessings for yourself.
