You can open your console.

The screws are used in computer equipment and other electronics and have a 6-point star shape.You don't want to lose track of the screws. Step 6: The console should be upright. Pull up the top and shake it.The entire case should come off.Make sure you remove all six screws from the base if you are having trouble removing it. Step 7: Find the hard drive and DVD drive. The hard drive and DVD drive should be on the left and right, respectively, if you're facing the front of the console.The DVD drive is dull gray and has a yellow sticker on it. Step 8: The IDE cable should be unfastened from the back of the hard drive. Pull the connector back from the hard drive by gripping it firmly on each side.It is difficult to remove the cable.If you can't pull it straight out, rock it back and forth. Step 9: The screw is underneath the cable. There is a screw between the hard drive and the DVD drive. Step 10: Remove the hard drive tray from the case. You can pull the tray out of the case if you remove the Torx 10 screw holding it in.The hard drive has a power cable.You can remove the power cable from the hard drive if you swap it out.The small screws that hold the hard drive in the tray can be removed. Step 11: Remove the cable from the DVD drive. The hard drive's cable was removed the same way.Pull it out of the DVD drive. Step 12: The DVD drive has screws on it. There are two screws that hold the DVD drive in. Step 13: The DVD drive needs to be pulled out. The drive can be pulled up and out of the case once the cable and screws have been removed. Step 14: The DVD power cable needs to be removed. Pull it out of the drive.The power cable can be difficult to replace, so be careful when removing it. Step 15: The board is identified. All of the drives are connected to a large green board. Step 16: The IDE cable needs to be removed from the board. It does the same thing as it did for the DVD and hard drives. Step 17: The power cord needs to be removed from the board. Pull one side up and the other side down at the same angle.It will be hard to remove if you pull straight up.If you have difficulty, you can use pliers. Step 18: Remove the part that connects it to the rest of the world. There are two wires that need to be removed to get the board out.Take the plugs out and make a note of where they were plugged in.The case fan, power switch and reset switch are connected by a yellow cable.There is a cable that connects the ports to the board. Step 19: The 11 screws hold the board in place. There are several places where the screws are located.If you look at the front of the console, you'll see that there are five screws above the fan, five below it, and one to the right of it.The screws need to be removed with a screwdriver. Step 20: The board is needed to extract it. Lift the case up and out with your fingers.It's a good idea to put the board in a place where it won't get damaged when out of the case.
