You don't have to be afraid of passing a defender in soccer.
You need to get past defenders if you want to play offensive soccer.You can beat a defender without knowing how to do fancy tricks.Direction changes, speed-shifts, and quick fakes will do the job.You'll need to be bold.
Step 1: You need to get into the right mindset.
The most important point is this.It will come if you think to yourself, "I am going to beat this defender."You can beat them.Don't think for a second that you are going to fail.No two defenders are the same.You might have messed up once, but that doesn't mean you'll do it again.All of your attention and energy should be on the moment at hand.If you aren't up in your head, you will play better.Be present.
Step 2: You should be realistic about the consequences.
It won't be the end of the world if you fail to pass the defender.It will be a mistake, and nothing permanent.You can bounce back.You can redeem yourself by recovering the ball.If you try to win the game, your teammates will support you.Talk to someone if you are getting a lot of negative feedback for your mistakes.No one should be making fun of you for trying.Ask a coach, a parent, or a team captain to help you stop it.
Step 3: Don't give in.
Even if you lose the ball, try again.The more you try, the more likely you are to succeed.You can accomplish almost anything with persistence and dedication.You don't need to try again right away.Don't throw yourself at a tough defender if the game is close.Pass the ball away if you are humble.
Step 4: Be bold.
You will regret it if you don't try to pass the defender.Human beings are defined by how they act in the face of fear.Even if you aren't the best player on the team, you can still give your all in every play.
Step 5: You should be aware of your teammates' positions.
Make yourself aware of your teammates positions on the field before you make a decision on whether or not to beat the defender.Check to see if it makes sense to pass the ball to someone.Try to play the ball to a teammate who has more room to run.You could use your teammate's run as a decoy.A defender may try to cover the runner if he is marking you.This would allow you to run at the defense and leave them on the back foot, giving you time to think about what to do next.A different defender may pull across to cover the run.The space behind the defense would be created by this.A long pass across the field would be appropriate.Try to play the killer ball behind the back line if neither defender tracks the run.
Step 6: If you want it, go for it.
You can beat the defender if no teammate is trying to run in behind you and you are in a better position.Be decisive, quick, and confident.Go and beat him.

Make the defender think that you're moving in a different direction with the ball.Run towards the defender.When you are close to the defender's leg-reach, shift your body language to either the right or left of the opposing player.Give the opposing player every indication that you will charge in that direction.Drop your shoulder toward the side you want the defender to think you are charging, and keep your upper torso facing the same direction.You can quickly tap the ball with the outside of your foot.If you want to fake going to the left of the defender, use your right foot.Roll the ball slightly to the side you don't want to take, then immediately tap it back on course.Go past the defender and towards the goal.
Step 9: Practice.
Try to do the moves that you know well.Start slowly, and run through your tricks at a fast pace that would never happen in a game situation.Focus on technique over speed.The faster you get, the more comfortable you are.There are training drills online if you don't feel confident in your ability to beat a player.There are match-play skill moves that can be very helpful.Put effort into your training sessions to acquire the skills to beat a defender if you watch these and work with them.
Step 10: Work on your control of the ball.
The better you can handle the ball, the more confident you'll be.Put the ball in your hand and work on foot-eye coordination.Good ball control can be developed by dribbling through the tight spaces of your house.Set up a line of cones and run drills.Be careful not to knock any of the cones over as you dribble the ball.You should pass the ball to yourself.Practice meeting the ball when it comes back to you by kicking it off a brick wall.This will help you with foot-eye coordination.
Step 11: You can learn tricks.
You do not need to know how to perform fancy tricks to beat a player.Knowing a lot of tricks can help you tackle tough situations and feel more confident on the field, which will create room for more effective striking.
Step 12: You should practice until you feel confident.
The more you practice, the better you will be.Practice with friends and family.Ask coaches or other players for advice on how to better execute certain moves during team practices.The time will come when you can show your skills in a game situation.Just be mentally prepared, you don't need to plan too much.You can do it in games if you practice it.You have already succeeded if you've done this many times.Be confident.
