You can learn how to enable USB support on Virtualbox.You need to download and install the VirtualBox extension pack in order to get support for the current version of VirtualBox, but not the previous one.
Step 1: You can download the files in a web browser.
You can use any web browser.
Step 2: The extension pack can be downloaded.

Step 3: You can open the VirtualBox.
The app has an icon with a cube.Download, install, and set up VirtualBox if you haven't already done so.You can learn how to install VirtualBox.
Step 4: Click to open the file.
The menu bar in VirtualBox has it in the upper-right corner.A drop-down menu is displayed.
Step 5: Click the one you want.
The "File" drop-down menu has it's first option.
Step 6: Click Extensions if you want to modify it.
There are two options in the Preferences window to the left.
Step 7: You can add a new package by clicking the tab.
It's a blue square with a green "+" sign.The box is in the center.You can select extensions in the File Browser window.
Step 8: Click to open the extension pack.
You just downloaded the extension pack from the downloads page.Downloads can be found in your "Downloads" folder.Click the file to open it.
Step 9: Click on it.
When you add the extension, it opens a box asking if you want to install it.Go to the box and click "Install".
Step 10: Click I Agree if you scroll down to the bottom.
You have to read the license to install the extension pack.You have to scroll down to the bottom to see the button that says "I agree" in the lower-right corner.
Step 11: Click OK to proceed.
Allow a few minutes for the extension pack to be installed after you agree to the license agreement.You will be notified via a pop-up window after it's installed.In the popup window, click "Ok".The Extension pack has been installed.
Step 12: Click it to proceed.
The preferences window is in the lower-right corner.The preference window is closed.It is now possible to support both of these technologies.
Step 13: A virtual machine can be used.
Virtual Machines can be found in the box to the left of the home screen.
Step 14: You can click on the settings tab.
There is an icon with a yellow gear on the settings tab.It is above the virtual machines.
Step 15: Click on it.
The settings menu is to the left of the sidebar.
Step 16: Next to "Enableusb controller", click the box.
It is at the top of the menu.
Step 17: You can choose between "USB 2.0 (EHCI) Controller" or "usb 3.0 (xhcI) controller".
You can click the radial button next to the proper port type for your computer.
Step 18: Click on the icon to add a new filters.
The button has an icon with a blue plug and a green "+" sign.The "USB Filters" box is in the center.This shows a menu with your devices.
Step 19: You can choose a device that has ausb device.
There is a drop-down menu where you can add a USB device.Click the icon to add another filter.
Step 20: Click OK.
Click "Ok" in the lower-right corner of the menu if you want to add more devices.
Step 21: It is possible to restart VirtualBox.
Click the "X" icon at the top of the VirtualBox window to exit.To restart the app, click the App icon.
Step 22: Click the virtual machine that has enabledusb support.
Virtual Machines can be found in the box to the left of the home screen.
Step 23: Click on the icon.
There is a green arrow above the list of virtual machines.There is a message near the clock when the virtual machine starts.You will see a message after installing that says your device is ready to use.
