You should approach watercolor painting as a beginner.
Painting is a great way to relieve stress and anxiety. One of the hardest things to master is watercolor because it dries fast and leaves little room for error. If you have the right tools and a good technique, you can paint what you want.
Step 1: Put the two cups of water next to your computer.
If you plan on painting with watercolor paint, you will need a lot of fresh water. You don't need to constantly get up and down if you have at least two cups of water next to you.Leave one cup of water so you can wash the paint off your brush after you use it, and then dip it in the other cup to wet it.When a cup of water is murky brown or black, you should empty it in your sink and get fresh water.
Step 2: Take out the paint tubes.
If you are using a pan set, you don't need to do this step, but you may still want to mix your colors.Extra space on your palette can be used to mix the colors. If you mix them together, you can create more colors. You can get a wooden or plastic one, or a disposable paper one in a book. The three primary colors are red, blue, and yellow and are impossible to achieve by mixing other colors, but can be mixed together to create secondary colors.Secondary colors can be further mixed to make six tertiary colors.
Step 3: Put your brush in the water.
Water is required before you can dip your brush into the paint. One of your water cups should be used to wet your paint-less brush.Weaker colors require less water, while richly pigmented paint can handle a lot of water. If you want to get a tip on a round brush, hold it in your hand and flick your wrist. If you do this over a paper towel, you won't get paint and water everywhere.
Step 4: You can create auddle by dipping your brush into the paint.
If you are using tubed paint, you should dip your wet brush into the color you want to use.Transfer the paint onto your brush in a circular motion. You can create a puddle of watercolor if you add more water. You should see a puddle on top of the colors you want to use if you use a pan.Add water to your brush. When mixing, make a puddle for your new color.
Step 5: Get a feeling for the watercolor by applying broad strokes.
Go from one side of the paper to the other. The watercolor won't get built up on the surface of your paper if you tilt your easel backwards. The color of the watercolor should be lighter than the tube paint. If you want to achieve a darker result, apply more paint to the same area. You can fill in a pencil drawing with water color. It isn't as intricate as other paints, but that's what makes it unique. If you want to make a painting of an object, get the feeling of painting with watercolors first.
Step 6: Allow your painting to dry for 30 minutes.
Don't touch the surface of your painting because it will smudge.Wait to see what happens when you keep it in a dry area. When watercolor is dry, it looks lighter than when it is wet.watercolors are usually done in a single sitting.
Step 7: You can draw an outline of your painting with a pencil.
It's possible to use a mechanical or traditional no.2 pencils to do this.Start with a simple shape like a triangle or square, or a bottle that is sitting on your desk. The paint has a tendency to bleed, making your details difficult to paint, so avoid a lot of detail.Practice is the only way to improve your drawing skills.Start by drawing simple shapes. You can draw other static objects in your house. You can draw lighter lines if you are not confident.Don't use the pencil to scratch your drawing.Use long strokes.
Step 8: You can fill in the shapes with the watercolor pencils.
This will feel like a coloring book. You can use a back and forth motion until you are satisfied with the amount of color on the painting.Once wet, the color of your pencils will be much darker and more vibrant. The illusion of depth or shadow can be given by coloring some areas darker than others. If you want to make your painting darker, use multiple pencil strokes on a concentrated area. You can see how each one blends and interacts if you try more than one color.
Step 9: Put the brush in the cup of water.
To make your painting pop, saturate your brush with water. At all times, keep two cups of water near you.One to clean your brush and the other to wet it.If you don't rinse your brush in water before painting, it will blend together and make your painting muddy.
Step 10: The brush should be applied to the filled in areas.
If you want to brush over the colors in your painting, use a back and forth motion.Try to use long strokes until your brush needs more water. You should have a feeling for how the pencils work and how your paper reacts to water at this point. For more intricate areas, use a smaller brush. To remove paint that's gone out of the lines, use a wet, paint-free brush.
Step 11: The brush is a size 8.
Some watercolor artists only use one brush. The round brush is the most common brush used for water coloring.A round brush has rounded bristles that form a fine tip at the end. They can paint detail and larger areas.A good watercolor brush can hold a lot of water. The most expensive brushes to use for water coloring are the sable brushes. If you have a budget, buy a synthetic brush.
Step 12: You can buy watercolor pencils, tubed paint, or a pan set.
If you're a beginner, watercolor pencils are a great alternative. They interact with water on paper to create paint. The tube watercolor paint needs to beDiluted with water as well.If you want to paint on larger canvasses or give a deeper and richer feeling to your watercolor paintings, tubed paint is necessary.Pan sets come in a box set of hardened paints. If you are on the go, pan sets are great. You should look into watercolor pencils if you are new to painting.Tubed paint will feel more familiar to you if you have painted before.Pan sets are great for beginners.
Step 13: Purchase watercolor paper.
You can get different types of paper. The heavier the paper, the better it will hold your paint better.Rough paper is good for painting because it takes your paint and water well.Students and artists have quality paper.Student grade paper may yellow over time, but artist quality is higher and will stand the test of time. The level of absorbency is the difference between regular paper and watercolor paper.Regular computer paper will cause your paint to spiderweb.White paper can give your paintings a different effect.
