It's difficult to be a good volleyball player.Do you feel like you are the lowest point in the team? You can feel better now.
Step 1: You are a good player!
If you weren't very good, people would let you know.If you try out for a team and make it, it's because of talent, not luck.
Step 2: There are positive things about your skills.
If you're not very good at spiking, don't try.If you're good at bumping, try to do it more.If you do what you know how to do, you are more likely to get the ball.
Step 3: Improve the things you don't do very well.
Get a parent, guardian, or neighbor to help you.Tell your coach if you don't feel comfortable asking. They might be able to help with one-on-one time with you. They are the experts. You will get better.
Step 4: You should be a team.
A team is nothing if they don't come together. If someone misses, don't give them the death glare. It happens to the best of them!Say something like, "It's ok!"Next time, we'll get them!If you missed the ball, treat them like you would want to be treated.
Step 5: Don't let your mistakes affect you.
We all make them. The best player on the team. They miss as much as anyone else. It's normal to think that your mistakes stand out so much that you can't bounce back.
Step 6: Don't bounce back!
Did you miss a game winning point?Do it matter if you stop and think? Not in the long run.How many times have your teammates missed a ball? You are not alone.Return to your feet and hit the ball.
Step 7: Let the team know about your problems.
It is possible for your teammates to not give the ball to you for certain hits throughout the game if you tell them about your weaknesses. This is not a confession-it-all showdown."Hey guys, I would prefer it if you didn't set it up for me as much."I'm more of a Setter-upper.
