Vaping has become more and more popular as an alternative to smoking.Vape pens and e-cigarettes are powered by batteries, which means they need to be adequately charged in order to work properly.Depending on the brand and model you carry, you can get your pen juiced up and ready to go with either the included charging unit or an external battery charge.
Step 1: If your pen has a battery, check it out.
The users manual is usually where you will find this information.Removable batteries are housed inside of the pen itself, whereas integrated batteries take the form of a cylinder or tube, which can be attached to the cartridges or part that heats the e-liquid.The universal design of the 510-Thread batteries makes them compatible with different types of batteries. The battery of your pen may have colors, text, or other markings.
Step 2: Use the included cable to connect your pen to its charging port.
Plug the AC adapter into the electrical outlet first.Plug the large end of the cable into the adapter and connect the smaller end to the port in your pen.You may need to remove the battery from the cartridge in order to get to the charging port. You should always use the cable that came with your pen.Too much juice could cause your pen to explode, because different units sometimes run on higher voltages.Don't attempt to charge your device with a laptop, mobile phone, or any other device that could be damaged in the event of a short or surge.
Step 3: Wait for the battery to charge completely.
The charging times for different batteries can vary. When the indicator light turns green or starts blinking, you will know your battery is fully charged. When the battery reaches 100%, the charging light shuts off.If you want to reduce the risk of fire related to overheating, place your pen away from any flammable objects.Once your battery is fully charged, you can put it back onto the cartridge and start using it again.
Step 4: The red light will tell you it's time to replenish your battery.
You can see a red light on the display when you deplete your pen's battery.Hold off on using your pen until it is charged. If you attempt to use your pen in a low-battery state, you could end up with shorts, battery death, or other defects.Take it as a sign that it's time to replace your battery if it stops holding a charge or starts draining faster than usual.
Step 5: To get the batteries, open the case of your pen.
Before you can charge your pen, you need to take the batteries out. There is a battery cover on the side of the pen.Press the thumblatch or tab to open it.Some pens need to be modified to work with batteries. The batteries are usually housed in a separate device. The most common type of battery used to power the pens are 18650s.These look similar to standard AA batteries.
Step 6: The batteries should be in a good place.
The wall has a power cord. When the power indicator light appears, arrange the batteries inside the charging slots according to the indicated pole positions. As they seat securely, you should hear a faint click. If you are having trouble getting your batteries to fit inside the charger, try turning one or both of them around. They might be oriented in the wrong way.mixing and matching parts can ruin a battery, so make sure you use a charger that is compatible with your battery type. You should consult the literature included with your pen for more information on what type of charger to use.
Step 7: The batteries need to be charged for at least 3 hours.
The average amount of time it takes for a battery to reach a full charge is what it is.Depending on the brand, age, and capacity of your batteries, charging times can vary quite a bit.Keeping an eye on them is the best thing to do.Pick out a place that isn't too cold or hot.The temperature range for charging most types of batteries is 50–86 F.If your pen has a soft start mode, you can use it.Soft start charges batteries at a slower rate than high heat can cause them to burn out faster.
Step 8: The batteries should be removed from the charger when they reach full capacity.
All of the relevant charging details that you might need to know, including charge duration, current percentage, and battery specs, are displayed on the screens of newer chargers.A single light might turn green or shut off when the batteries are done charging. Before you use your charger for the first time, take a few minutes to learn about it.Don't over charge your batteries if you check back on them frequently.
Step 9: Put the batteries into your pen.
Press the batteries into place if you open the battery cover again.Double-check that their orientation is correct. If you accidentally reverse their positions, your pen won't work.A flashing indicator light is usually a sign of a connection issue.Remove the batteries and put them back in to make sure they're seated securely.
Step 10: Keep an eye on the charge level of your batteries.
If you don't know whether or not your batteries need a charge, pop them out, stick them in your external charge and take a look at their current percentage. You can either top them off or reload them.If you don't have a display screen on your charger, it might light up to indicate that the batteries are charging.Until they reach full power, keep them hooked up.
Step 11: When your performance begins to suffer, replace your batteries.
Most of the 18650 batteries are built to last around 1-2 years of regular charging. If your batteries start taking longer than normal to charge, the best thing to do is get rid of them and buy a new set. There are many stores that keep 18650 batteries in stock. If you can't find them there, try ordering them online from a vendor that sells them.Pick up at least one extra battery. You should have a spare on hand if you have to charge the others or if your vape pen dies.If you want to reduce the amount of harmful waste in the environment, take your batteries to a battery recycling center instead of throwing them away.
