One of the classics that always seems to be in fashion is braided hair. You may be missing out if you only have a full-on braid. One of the easiest ways to add flair to your hair is with accent braids. If you want to add a braid on one side of your head, you can leave your hair down. You can turn an accent braid into a headband with half up half down styles and buns.If your hair is starting to look a little dull, it's time to add one of these easy braids.
Step 1: Remove your hair.
It is important to brush your hair because you will be leaving it down.Prepare your hair for styling by using your favorite brush or comb.If your hair is curly, use a wide tooth comb.Using a brush can cause hair loss.If the hair is damp, you have an easier time braiding it.If it's dry to begin with, mist it lightly with water from a spray bottle and then style it.If your hair is prone to frizz, you may want to use a smoothing product on it before styling.
Step 2: Take a small piece of hair from one side of your head.
You can place the braid wherever you want. The most common spot for the braid is on one side of your hair, so gather a small section that is approximately 1- to 2-inches wide.A small section of hair can be found beside your face on either side or further back.It is possible to have a section of hair from the side of your head.An accent braid can look great from the lower part of your hair.It is possible to make your accent braid wide or narrow.Try different sized braids to see what works best with your hair type.If you want your braid to stand out, use color. Before braiding the hair, use hair chalk. You can braid your own hair instead of using a clip-on hair extension.
Step 3: The section should be secured with an elastic.
Once you have decided on the location and size of the section of hair, you can braid it.Divide the section of hair into three smaller sections and cross the outside pieces over the center piece. To secure the braid, use a hair elastic that is similar in color to your hair.If you prefer, you can create a two strand braid by dividing the section into two smaller sections and crossing them over one another until you reach the end of the hair. Before starting the braid, twirl the two sections. If you want to keep the braid in place all day, give it a spray of spray. If an elastic isn't strong enough to keep your braid in place, you can use a bobby pin or two to secure it.If you prefer, you can substitute a clip for the elastic.
Step 4: Curl your hair
The style of ponytail and accent braid will look best if you have some texture in your hair. Before styling your hair, use a curling iron, hot rollers, or your favorite method to add waves and texture.Don't worry about making perfect curls. As long as they add texture, it is okay if they are a little messy. If you have naturally curly or wavy hair, you don't need to add texture. If you prefer, you can leave your hair straight.
Step 5: Your hair should be on the side.
Decide which side of your hair you want to part.To make sure that your hair looks neat, use a comb to part it on the other side.
Step 6: Take some hair from the side and braid it.
Take a small section of hair from the side that you parted it on after you have parted your hair.If you aim for a section that is approximately 1-inch wide, you can create a simple three- strand braid with it.Use an elastic to secure the end of the braid. If you prefer, you can make a larger braid.A larger section is best for thick, textured hair.
Step 7: Take your hair out and put it in a ponytail.
Pull your hair back into a ponytail after you braided it.Use a hair elastic or clip to secure the ponytail, then spray your hair with a flexible hold hairspray to keep it in place all day.If you want to remove the elastic from the end of the braid, you have to pull your hair back into the ponytail.
Step 8: Pull the top part of your hair back.
Pull back the top section of your hair for a half up half down style.Attach your hair with an elastic at the back of your head.It is a good idea to brush out your hair before you pull it back.Don't use a comb if you have curly hair. You can take a small section, such as the hair that will fall into your face if you leave it down, or the entire top section of your hair.
Step 9: The pulled back section should be braided.
The braid should be created from the pulled back section. If you want to make a simple braid, start at the elastic that holds your hair back and secure the end with another elastic. If you prefer, you can create a fishtail braid.
Step 10: A braid is added to the hair that is left down.
If you want a more subtle accent braid, gather a small section from the hair that you've left down instead of braiding the top section. You can either braid your hair on one side or the other. As with a simple accent braid, you can make it stand out by coloring it with hair chalk.
Step 11: Your hair should be in a high ponytail.
You can brush your hair back into a ponytail with a comb or brush.Place the pony high up on your head and secure it with an elastic. You can place the ponytail at the back of your head if you prefer a more subtle look.
Step 12: Pull the hair out of the ponytail.
Hold the end of the ponytail in your hand after securing it.If you have hair on one side of the pony, you can braid it with it.A wide section of hair is what you want. The section should be at least 1 12 inches wide.
Step 13: Without the section that you removed, Curl the ponytail into a bun.
Curl the rest of the ponytail around the base to make a bun.The bun needs to be secured with bobby pins.
Step 14: The hair should be braided.
Once the bun is secure, you can braid the hair that you separated from it.It is easy to hide if you secure the end of the braid with a hair elastic. You want the braid to be thick.Pull on the sides of the braid to make it appear thicker.
Step 15: Wrap the braid around the bun.
Curl the section of hair around the base of the bun after braiding it.You can use a pin to secure the braid. If you want your hair to stay in place all day, spray your bun and braid with a flexible hold hairspray before you leave.
Step 16: Take care of your hair.
You want your hair to look neat and smooth because you are leaving it down for this style.Remove knots and tangles with a comb or brush. You may want to use a curling iron or hot rollers before you begin braiding because this style looks pretty with curly or wavy hair.
Step 17: Take a section of hair from behind one ear and braid it.
A small section of hair can be found behind one of your ears when your hair is combed out.Pull the hair up to the center of your head and braid it.If you want the headband to be prominent, you can make the braid thick or thin.
Step 18: A section of hair from the area where you want the band to rest.
Take another section of hair from along the line where you want the headband to sit when you braided the section enough to reach the center of your head.It should be a bit thinner than the first one.
Step 19: Continue braiding after connecting the new hair with one of the sections.
When you get a new section of hair from the center of your head, join it with one of the strands in the braid.Continue braiding across your head as you pull your hair tight. The braid should stay as neat as possible.
Step 20: Continue braiding a section of hair from the opposite side of the head.
Take another section of hair along the line of the headband when you reach the other side of your head.Continue braiding after connecting it to one of the strands.
Step 21: Take a section of hair from behind the ear and braid it.
You can get a section of hair from behind your other ear once you reach the end of the braid.Attach the end of the braid with a small elastic.Make sure that the braided headband stays in place by spraying your hair with a flexible hold hairspray.
