Step 6: The cap needs to be installed.
There are grooves in the mortar joints.The grooves should be at least 2.5 cm deep.The cap was flashing when I saw it.The front of the chimney has a cap on it.The front of the chimney has a cap on it.All the way into the mortar, insert the flashing's flange to secure the cap.There are holes on each side of the chimney.Put the plastic anchors in the holes.The procedure should be repeated on each side of the chimney.The cap flashing should overlap the previous one.Seal the flashing with caulking along the mortar joints.
