You can learn the basics of how to use a program.The most widely used photo editing software is Photoshop, which is used for everything from minor photo touch-ups to creating weird artwork.You will need a Windows or Mac computer to get a paid subscription to AdobePhotoshop.
Step 1: Go toadobe.com in a web browser
On PC or Mac, you can use any web browser.
Step 2: Click to sign up.
The Adobe website has it in the upper-right corner.The email address and password associated with your Adobe ID are required to sign in.Click the blue text if you don't have an Adobe ID.You will need to enter your name, email, country, and birthday, as well as create a password.Click when you are done.
Step 3: Click on the app you want to download.
The blue button is on the right side of the screen.
Step 4: Click here to download a trial.
The app has a blue icon with a banner and text that says "Ps".The trial lasts 7 days.
Step 5: The pulldown menus can be used to answer the questions.
If you are using Photoshop for yourself, or for an organization or team, Adobe will ask you your skill level.Click when you are done.
Step 6: Click on the menu.
It can be found in the upper-right corner of the website.
Step 7: Click on the icon.
The first option is next to the Creative Cloud logo.Click the "Products" tab at the top if you don't see the logo.
Step 8: Click here for a free trial.
The third tab is at the top of the page.The file is automatically downloaded.
Step 9: The install file needs to be opened.
You can use your web browser to open them.On PC and Mac, the install file is "Photoshop_Set-up.dll".The install application has instructions.Downloads can be found in your "Downloads" folder.
Step 10: You can open the program.
The app has a blue icon with a banner that says "Ps".It can be found in either the Start menu on Windows or The Finder on Mac.The program will take a few minutes to open.
Step 11: Click to create or open.
Click if you want to start a new project.Click if you want to open the file.The menu bar at the top allows you to open or create a new file at any time.
Step 12: Pick a name for the file.
To type the name of the file in the sidebar, use the text box below "Preset Details" at the top.
Step 13: The file dimensions can be selected.
The file dimensions should be typed in the boxes labeled "Height" and "Width".The file dimensions are measured in inches.The pulldown menu can be used to change the unit of measurement.The image size and color mode will be set if you open an existing image.
Step 14: The resolution should be set.
There is a box that says "Resolution"72 is the average size of a digital image for the internet, computer, and mobile devices.300 pixels per inch is the average for images intended for print.
Step 15: You can choose the color mode.
The images are intended for computer and TV screens.The mode is used for images intended for printing.
Step 16: You can choose bit color.
The amount of colors allowed in a single file is determined by the bit color.The higher the bit color, the larger the file.
Step 17: You can choose the background color.
From the pulldown menu, you can choose between black or white.To pick a custom background color, click the colored square.
Step 18: Click to create.
This will make a new file.
Step 19: Click on the layer.
The menu bar is at the top of the screen.This will show a menu.
Step 20: Click the button.
The first option in theLayer menu is at the top of the app.A variety of options will be displayed in a pop-out menu.
Step 21: Click the layer.
It is the first option in the pop-out menu.A new layer will be created by this.You can use layers to modify images without changing the original image.The Layers panel is to the right.Click on a layer in the Layers panel to modify it.Clicking the icon that resembles a piece of paper below the Layers panel will create a new layer.Click the trashcan icon below the layers panel if you want to remove a layer.Click the eyeball icon next to the layer in the Layer panel to turn it on and off.
Step 22: The tools can be used to modify the photo.
There are tools in the sidebar.Below is a list of what the tools do.You can use the tool icon to display a pop-out menu with more tool options if there is a triangle in the lower-right corner.
Step 23: You can use the tool.
The marquee tool can be used to select sections of an image.It is an icon with a dotted line.Hold the marquee button for more shapes.
Step 24: The tool can be used.
The lasso tool can be used to draw a shape around objects in an image.As you draw a shape around the object, you will see a line.When you return to the beginning of the shape you are drawing, the selection will be complete.The lasso tool is an icon.Click and hold the lasso tool icon to use it.The Magnetic lasso tries to guess the shape you are outlining and places the lines accordingly.You can use the tool to create line segments around an object.
Step 25: The move tool can be used.
The marquee or lasso tools can be used to move selections using the move tool.The icon looks like a crosshair with arrows on all sides.To see a bounding box around the selection, click on the box next to "show transform controls" at the top of the app.The transform controls allow you to scale and sheer a selection by dragging the corners and sides of it.To rotate the selection, click and drag just outside the corners.
Step 26: The Crop tool can be used.
You can cut off the excess sides of an image with the crop tool.The icon looks like two corner lines forming a square.Click the crop tool and drag the corners and edges of the image inward.There is an image preview inside the crop lines.The dark parts of the image outside the crop lines can be cut with the checkmark icon.
Step 27: The Eyedropper tool is used.
You can use the eyedropper tools to pick a color.The icon looks like an eyedropper.The Layers panel has a color panel to the right of it.
Step 28: The brush tool is used.
You can mark and draw on the image with the brush tool.The icon looks like a paintbrush.You can choose a color from the colors panel to the right of the layers panel.You can use a rainbow colored bar.The box can be used to adjust the tint.Click the circle icon in the upper- left corner to change the size of the brush.Solid lines will be created by 100% hardness.There will be lines with softer/faded lines.
Step 29: The tool can be used.
The tool removes data from an image.The icon looks like an eraser.The size and hardness can be changed by clicking the circle icon in the upper- left corner.
Step 30: The Spot healing brush tool can be used.
There are spots on an image or layer that can be removed with the spot healing brush tool.The spots are colored with the colors that surround them.It's a bar with three segments.Draw over a spot on the image with the spot healing tool.The circle icon in the upper- left corner can be used to change the size of the spot healing tool.The blur tool can be changed by clicking the circle icon in the upper- left corner.
Step 31: The blur tool can be used.
The Blur tool blurs part of an image.The icon looks like a drop of liquid.
Step 32: The Sharpen tool can be used.
The sharper the tool, the more detail it brings to an image.The icon looks like a triangle.You can access the sharpen tool by holding the blur tool.The circle icon in the upper- left corner allows you to change the size of the sharpen tool.
Step 33: The Dodge tool can be used.
The dodge tool is used to lighten an image.The icon looks like a circle with a stick.You can change the size of the dodge tool by using the circle icon in the upper- left corner.
Step 34: The Burn tool can be used.
The burn tool can be used to lighten an image.The icon looks like a thumb and index finder.You can access the burn tool by holding the dodge tool.The burn tool can be changed by clicking the circle icon in the upper- left corner.
Step 35: The text tool can be used.
You can place text on an image with the text tool.The icon looks like a capital "T".The pull-down menus at the top of the screen can be used to select the text.You can type a message on the image where you want to place the text.The move tool can be used to move the text.
Step 36: The shape tool can be used.
You can use the shape tool to draw shapes.The icon looks like a rectangle.To access more shapes, click and hold the shape tool.The layers panel has a color panel above it.
Step 37: You can use the tool.
You can zoom in and out of an image with the zoom tool.The icon looks like a magnifying glass.You can zoom in on the image.Click to zoom out if you hold the command.
Step 38: Click the file to open it.
The menu bar is at the top of the screen.
Step 39: Click it to save.
This will save the file to a program.Save the file to a format that is usable if you want to use the image on the internet.JPEG is the most common file type for images.
Step 40: Click Save.
The "Save" option can be found in the File menu.You can see a list of file types when you save the image.
Step 41: You can type a filename.
You can type a name for the image in the box.
Step 42: Pick a file type.
You can use the drop-down menu below the file name to select a file type.
Step 43: Click it to save.
There is a popup in the lower-right corner.The image will be saved as a file type.
