How To Paint Your Car Flat-Black For Cheap - Unfinished ManHow much does it cost to paint a car?
There are a lot of high end exotics that are painted in flat black. These companies spend a lot of money on painting.
If you like the menacing look of flat black cars but don't want to spend thousands on a paint job, now you can get it for only $120.You are not going to paint the car black but instead vinyl it, like user djaemac did on e90 Post.
Djaemac paid $120 for 25 yards of vinyl and 2 quarts of application fluid and did all the work himself, with help from his fiancée.He worked on his car in the evenings after coming home from work and spent 8 days completing the car.He used a felt squeegee, a heat gun, and an X-acto knife.
If you consider how much money he spent on the process and the fact that he didn't have any experience doing this type of thing, we think it looks amazing.
I work as a full time hair stylist.I want to become a full time writer one day and share my experience with you.
I wanted to say that you did a great job with your car.I want to do this to my car, but I'm a little nervous because it looks hard.I want my car to look the same as yours, so it was difficult to do this.

This car was done by a member of another site, but it isn't as easy as that guy says it is.Don't be afraid to rip it up and do it again if some parts look bad, you just need a lot of patience and time.

I went to one of the distributors for the flat black material and the price was around $40.00 per square yard, but I can't remember the exact product number.
I think it will cost around $250 in material if you don't get a discount, the BMW guy got one because his friend buys a lot of material from Oracal.

Do you know if mike got the product from this vinyl? How much would a 2 door truck cost me?
They have a list of distributors, you can ask them how much you need, they should know how many yards are required for your truck.
Nice job!It looks like a professionnal one. When I searched on the internet for prices, it was always in the 2000s.Is the product the same quality as 3M?Thanks in advance!
I did vinyl for about 4 years at the shop my parents own.It is inexpensive and good, but 3M tends to last a little longer. If you have to overlap the material anywhere, lay the lower portion first, so that the top overlaps, because the vinyl will shrink over time with exposure to the sun and heat. This helps keep the water out of the edges. You should be able to do it again in a few years. You should be good for around 5 years with different products. It's pretty easy to remove the residuals with some kind of cleaner. If you don't want to buy it, the application fluid is easy to make.I think it will be a lot of water with a few drops of dish soap, but you can find a recipe online.
I was thinking about putting a flat black in my 335 but then I got the idea from you and I am going to put it.
I was wondering if there was any step by step instructions for doing this on your own.How long does it last?Is this subject to weather?Which ones?
The source for pictures is not step-by-step as shown in the e90 post.I have learned over the years that if they say on forums that a project will take a long time, plan on spending 2 to 3 times that on the project.
I have a 2k13 Charger R/T.I don't think it will turn out right, but I would try it myself. Is anyone aware of a professional who will do it?
A lot of places that install body kits, sound systems, and other things should be able to do it for you.Make sure they have done it before.
Looks great!I want to do the same thing, but I'm looking for a more durable option. The one that is black can not be scratched or chiped.Does anyone have a vehicle that has the application done? Please tell me how you like it.Thanks! The beamer looks great again.
I wanted to know why people do this. The new trend was not something I could find.I don't understand trends other than one person does something different and others join in, then it is "soo yesterday".Someone can explain this to me.Is there a reason, like a statement or something?I hope there is a reason.
People just do it and there is no reason for it.It is a cheaper way to paint your car and it is not permanent, which leads us to the questions of why people paint their cars flat black.
I would really like to do vinyling with my car.I had a question. Some of the scratches on my paint are deeper than others. Is it a good idea to buff most of the scratches or not?
I got a coat from these crooks and it looked great, but the price was too high. The only difference between this product and the LINE-X product line is that it is a scam outfit. The LINE-X option will run half the price and it will be done by a company that is open 6 days a week.It is a real company. It is a scam.I could tell you stories that were true.
