Step 1: You can create an online account with the Transport for London.

The easiest way to pay the congestion charge is through the autopay option on the TFL website.Every time your vehicle enters the city center, Autopay will deduct the congestion charge from your bank account.You can apply for the autopay before you start.Provide the make, model, and license plate number of your vehicle to the TFL website as part of the autopay registration process.When you pay through autopay, the congestion charge payment will be reduced.You will pay either £10 or £13.You will be charged an annual amount of $10 if you pay the congestion charge online.
Step 3: If you only visit central London, make individual payments online.
There is no reason to set up autopay online if you are a tourist in the UK or not frequently in London.You can make a one-time payment using a credit card or bank account.You can pay the charge before midnight on the day you arrive in London.Before making the payment, you should enter your vehicle's license plate number and country of registration.To pay a 1-time congestion charge online, go to: https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/pay-the-charge-select-vehicle-26283.If you don't make the payment before the day following your drive to central London, there will be an extra fee.
Step 4: If you want to speak with a person, call the TFL hotline.
You can call the TFL to make congestion-charge payments.You can call the number for TFL payments from within the UK.If you are calling from abroad, dial 20 7649 9222.Give the TFL clerk your credit card number or bank account information to make a payment.On weekdays, the line is active from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.You have to pay the charge before midnight on the day you drive into London.There will be a penalty charge added to the amount you owe.
Step 5: If you have a phone, use the TFL app to take care of the charge.
If you have a device with internet, you can download the TFL app.The thumbnail of the app looks like a blue circle with a horizontal line running through it.You can pay the congestion charge with a credit card or bank account once you have downloaded the app.The app is free and will work on any smart device.
Step 6: If you frequently drive in London, you can save your vehicle details in the app.
You don't have to enter your information when you drive into London's city center if you use the TFL "Pay to Drive in London" app.You will save time and effort if you do this.You can use the app to check if a certain postcode is in the congestion-charge zone if you will be driving in London.You can review your payment history on the app to see previous payments for the congestion charge.
Step 7: If you live in the Congestion Charging Zone, you can apply for a discount.
If you live in the zone, the TFL will give you a discount on the congestion charge.To prove your address, the TFL requires you to show your driving license, a bank or credit card statement, or a formal housing lease.The residents' discount is temporarily closed to new applicants as of May 2021.When the discount opens again, you can check the TFL site for news.If you drive a vehicle with a 100% discount, you can apply through the same website.
Step 8: If your vehicle does not meet emission standards, you will have to pay the ULEZ fee.

Step 9: If you don't settle the charge within 2 days, you'll have to pay a penalty.
You will receive a Penalty Charge Notice in the mail if you haven't paid the congestion charge by midnight of the day after you enter London.The fee drops to £80 if you pay it off in 14 days.You can pay the fee by calling the TFL hotline and following the payment procedure on your PCN.The fee increases to $240 if you don't pay the penalty charge for more than 28 days.You can pay off a PCN online.
