Learn how to make a wooden cross.

I've wanted to make my own wooden cross since I started woodworking.Since this is the start of Holy week, I thought it was a good time to do it.

I use two pieces of wood that are slightly different in width.I pushed the blade again after taking the thicker one.I set the fence so I could cut the other piece.

I have never done a half lap joint before.It took me a while but I got it done.I used the depth stop on my circular saw to make a bunch of notches in the wood.I used a hammer and chisel to clean it up.

The beauty of the wood was brought out by spray lacquer.I added three nails to my cross.I saved all the nails after taking a lot of pallets apart.I used those for this project.I thought that was appropriate.

I am glad I made it because this project meant a lot to me.It was so easy to make that I thought it was going to be hard.

I don't remember the size of the wood, but it was mahogany.Since it was for my mom, I used a hard wood for most things.
