Wigs are a fun way to change your hair color, but they can be itchy and make you itch on your head.wig caps are nylon or mesh caps that protect your hair and make wigs more comfortable. If you want your hair to lie flat against your head, you need to styling it.Before you wear your wig, stretch the wig cap over your head to hide your natural hair underneath.Good hair days are over!
Step 1: To make it easier to tuck under the cap, apply gel to your hair.
If you have a lot of small baby hairs, this is helpful.Run a palm-sized amount of hair gel through your hair, using a comb or your fingers to pull the product down your strands. If you want to braid your hair, you can twist it onto the top of your head. It's a good idea to apply more gel to areas with more flyaways. You can wet your hair if you don't have gel.Make sure the strands are damp and not dripping.
Step 2: You should wear cornrows on your hair.
Cornrows lay flat against your hair.Put your hair in rows from the front of your head to the back. The flatter your braids will be, the more sections you make.If you want the braid to attach to the scalp, you have to braid down each row.To hold the braids in place, use rubber bands or barrettes. If you have trouble sectioning off your hair, spray detangling spray on your strands. It's easier to braid with this. You can get a professional hair cut at the salon.
Step 3: If you have long hair, wrap 2 braids around it.
You should braid your hair down the middle.Cross each braid against the back of your head with a hair tie.To get the braids on top of your hair, pull the tails up behind your ears.If you have thick hair, you can split it into more sections before braiding it.If you make 4 braids, they will lay against your head.A French braid is a different type of braid.
Step 4: If you have thin hair, make a bun at the nape of the neck.
If you have shoulder-length or shorter hair, this won't work. The bun will stick out.Pull your hair back in a bun and secure it at the base of your head with pins.2 smaller buns can be made to help them lay flatter. If you have short hair that slips out of the bun, spray the strands with spray to hold them in place.
Step 5: If you have sensitive skin, spray a scalp protector on your head.
While wig caps protect your hair, they can still be itchy. If you want to prevent any irritation, put on a wig cap with a scalp protector on your head. You can buy it from a beauty supply store. It should be dry in about 30 minutes.
Step 6: The front of your head is where you want the wig cap to go.
This will make sure that your hair is completely covered by the cap and wig.Put the edge of the cap on your forehead. It should not be behind your head.wig caps can be purchased from a costume store, beauty supply store or online retailer. There are nude or black wig caps.Pick one that matches your hair or skin tone.Pick a nude cap if you have fair skin.If you have a widow's peak, you should place the edge of the wig cap on the lowest part of your head.
Step 7: The wig cap has to be pulled over the back of your head.
Attach your cap to your hair by stretching it over it.Pull it down until the bottom of the cap hits where your head and neck meet. One hand is needed to hold the front of the wig cap in place on your head while the other is used to stretch the cap down.
Step 8: Put the sides of the cap over your ears.
The cap will be covering your ears when you stretch it over your head. The wig cap should be adjusted so that it rests behind your ears instead of over top of them.Tuck the hair back under the cap if there are any strands that escape from the sides.
Step 9: To hold the wig cap in place, place the bobby pins around the edges.
You can keep the wig cap from sliding off by securing it to your hair with bobby pins.Place at least 1 to 2 pins on the front and back of your head. You can use snap clips instead of pins.Someone with thin hair will need more pins than someone with thicker hair.
