You can make a virtual internet connection on your laptop.
As long as you have the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, you can turn your laptop into a wireless hotspot with a few clicks.There are built-in tools that allow macOS computers to share their hardwired internet with one another.If you're using Windows 7 or 8, you can use a program called Virtual Router to create a wireless hotspot.
Step 1: You can check your version of Windows 10.
The ability to turn a Windows 10 computer into a wireless hotspot was introduced in the Anniversary Update.Press Win if you want to start.Press enter if you want to type winver.The "Version" entry should be checked.It should be "1600 or later".
Step 2: If you are under version 1607, you should install the Windows 10 anniversary update.
The update is free, but may take up to an hour to install.Click the "Get the Anniversary Update now" button when you visit the Windows 10 anniversary update page.Follow the instructions to download and install the update.
Step 3: Click the Start button if you want to tap.
You can access the settings from the start menu after the anniversary update is installed.If you open the Search menu instead of the settings menu, it will lead to the wrong menu.The Start button is in the lower- left corner of the screen.
Step 4: Click the "Settings" option if you want to use it.
The Start menu has this on it.The gear icon may be the button.
Step 5: Click or tap "Network and Internet."
You will be able to see your network settings.
Step 6: Click or tap on the "Mobile hotspot" option.
You can find it in the left menu.If you have the Anniversary Update installed on your laptop, you can see this.
Step 7: To change your hotspot settings, tap or click.
The default name and password can be changed.The password will be required to connect, as the name will appear on your other devices in the "Available Networks" menu.If you are in a public area, you should have a strong password.
Step 8: You can choose which connection you want to share.
To find out if your laptop is connected to the internet via wi-fi, select "Wi-Fi."Select "Ethernet" from the menu if it's connected to the network via the internet.
Step 9: "Mobile hotspot" is on.
This will allow up to eight other devices to connect to your laptop and access the internet.The files on your laptop will not be accessible by the devices.
Step 10: You can connect your other devices to the internet.
Any device that supports wi-fi can connect to the hotspot once it is active.You will connect to it the same way you would any other wireless network.The name will be the one you entered before.From the "Mobile hotspot" menu, you can see how many devices are connected to your hotspot.
Step 11: The Mac computer needs to be connected to the network.
If you want to turn your Mac into a wireless hotspot, you need to connect it to the network via Ethernet.You can't create a wireless network if you're using your wireless device.If your Mac doesn't have an ethernet port, you'll need to use ausb port.
Step 12: The menu has the Apple logo.
This can be found in the upper- left corner of the screen.
Step 13: Click on "System Preferences".
Step 14: Click on the option to share.
This is the end of the third section.Click the "Show All" button at the top of the window if System Preferences doesn't open to the main screen.There are 12 small dots on this button.
Step 15: Click on the "Internet Sharing" option.
The "Internet Sharing" option can be found on the left side of the window.Don't check the box yet, just highlight the "Internet Sharing" option.
Step 16: You can click on the "share your connection" menu.
There are different network connections on your Mac.
Step 17: You can click on "Ethernet" in the menu.
This will allow you to share your internet connection with other people.Depending on your Mac model, "Ethernet" may have a different name.If you don't have an Ethernet cable connected to your computer, "Ethernet" will not appear.You can't use a wireless connection.
Step 18: In the "To computer using" list, check "Wi-Fi".
This will allow other devices to connect to your hotspot.
Step 19: Click on the button to find out more.
You can change your settings with this.
Step 20: The wireless network name and password should be set.
When other devices attempt to connect, this information will be required.
Step 21: Next to "Internet Sharing", check the box.
This will allow other devices to connect to your Mac's wireless hotspot.
Step 22: You should connect your devices.
You can use your other devices to connect to your wireless hotspot once it's active.Your new network will appear in the list of available networks on nearby devices, and the password you created will grant access to the internet.The files on your computer won't be accessible by the other devices.
Step 23: You can go to virtualrouter.codeplex.com in your browser.
Virtual Router is an open-source program that will turn your laptop's wireless network card into a wireless hotspot.You don't need a separate network connection to share it.It's a bad idea to use a program called Virtual Router Plus.This program can compromise your system.Only the virtualrouter.codeplex.com can be downloaded.Virtual Router is not compatible with Windows 10.
Step 24: You can download the button.
You will be able to download the Virtual Router installer.The download should take a few minutes.
Step 25: Click the install button.
Run the program after you have downloaded it.In your browser's Downloads section, you can find it in your Downloads folder.
Step 26: If you follow the instructions, you will be able to install Virtual Router.
The settings can be left at their defaults.
Step 27: Click it to start.
The Virtual Router can be launched from the Start menu.

Step 35: Problems with Virtual Router can be solved.
Since Virtual Router isn't an official program, there are several things that may be causing it to not work for you.Make sure you have the latest drivers for your laptop.Detailed instructions can be found on Find and Update Drivers.Download and install the hotfix from Microsoft if you get the "group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation" error.Make sure you don't use Windows 10.Virtual Router only works on Windows 7 and 8.There is no support for Windows 7 starter.
