Take the waterfall French braid to a new level if you know how to braid it.Combining it with a standard French braid creates an intricate, woven look. You can finish the braid in a number of ways.
Step 1: Put your hair in the side.
If you want to get rid of knots and tangles, start with dry hair and brush it out.A side part on the left or right side of your head can be created with the handle of a rat-tail comb.
Step 2: The braid should be on the thicker side of the part.
Take a small section of hair from your part and divide it into three equal strands.Cross the top and bottom strands over the middle one.
Step 3: Continue with a French braid.
Add the hair from the part to the strand. The middle strand should be crossed over the now-thicker top strand.
Step 4: Pick up a new strand and cross it over the old one.
After dropping the bottom strand, comb it into your hair. The strands of hair are neatly placed into the braid.Go towards the back of your head and pick up a new strand of hair. The middle strand should be crossed over the new strand.
Step 5: Continue until you reach the back of your head.
Before crossing over the middle strand, add a new strand of hair to the top strand.Pick up a new strand from the bottom and cross it over the middle one.Keep braiding until you reach the back of your head.
Step 6: A regular braid is used to finish off.
Simply cross the top and bottom strands over the middle one.The braid needs to be secured with a clear elastic.
Step 7: If you want to set your style, you have to comb your hair.
Run your fingers through the hair. You can give your hair a light mist of hairspray. The waterfall braid can be secured with a hair accessory or a colored pin.
Step 8: Attach a side part to your hair.
Start with dry hair.To remove hair from the side, use the handle of a rat-tail comb.Start the part above your left or right eyebrow, and angle it towards the back-center of your crown. The eyebrows should be placed between the middle and outside edges. It is possible to remove tangles with a detangling product.
Step 9: Start a braid on the thicker side of the part.
Divide a small section of hair from your head into three equal strands.Cross the top strand over the middle one.Do this again.
Step 10: If you want to anchor the waterfall braid, do a French braid.
Before crossing over the middle strand, add some hair to the top strand.Next, add some hair to the bottom strand and cross it over the middle strand. The foundation for your waterfall braid will be created by this.
Step 11: Continue with a waterfall braid until you reach the back of your head.
Cross the middle strand of hair with the top strand.Take a new strand of hair from behind the bottom strand.Cross this strand over the middle one. When you reach the back of your head, repeat these steps over and over again. As close to the part as possible, braid in a straight line. You won't have room for the French braid if you make it too low.You don't have to braid all the way to the back of your head if you want.If you want to wear a half up, half down style, you can braid the waterfall until you reach the crown of your head.
Step 12: The waterfall braid needs to be secured with a clear hair elastic.
After a few stitches of a regular braid, secure it with a clear hair elastic. This will help hold it together.
Step 13: Below the waterfall braid, begin a second braid.
Just below the waterfall braid, take another section of hair from your head.Three equal strands were split into that section.A basic braid can be created by crossing the top and bottom strands over the middle one.
Step 14: Continue until you reach the back of your head.
Add the hair from the waterfall braid to the top strand and then cross it over the middle strand.Cross the middle strand with the loose hair from your head.Continue until you reach the back of your head.
Step 15: There are two braids in a messy bun.
Wrap a hair tie around your hair and put it in a ponytail.Attach the messy bun to the ponytail with bobby pins. You can gather everything into a messy bun if you create a second French braid on the other side of your part.To help it last longer, set the style with a light mist of hairspray.
Step 16: You can create two side parts by brushing out your hair.
First, brush your hair out, then comb it back. The handle of a rat-tail comb can be used to create a part above the eyebrow. The back-center of your head is where you want to place the side parts.Your hair needs to be dry before you start.Between the middle and outside edge of the eyebrow is where the parts should be.
Step 17: Take the sides of your hair out of the way.
The hair needs to be combed below each side.Keep them flat against the side of your head with a bobby pin.Between the two parts, keep the hair on the top of your head.
Step 18: Use the loose, top section to begin a basic braid.
Make sure the thick section of hair on your head spans from side to side.Divide it into three strands.Cross the left strand over the middle one.
Step 19: Pick a new strand and cross it over the left strand.
The strand on the left side of your head should be dropped first.Pick up a strand from behind. The middle strand is crossed over by this new strand.
Step 20: The process should be repeated for the right strand.
Drop the strand and it will drape across the right side of your head. There is a new strand of hair behind it.The middle strand is crossed over by this new strand.
Step 21: Pin it when you reach the back of your head.
Pick up new strands after dropping the left and right. If you want to do a French braid, don't add new hair to existing strands.Continue until you reach the back of your head, then secure it with a bobby pin.
Step 22: Start a braid on the left side of your head.
Take a small strand of hair from the left side of your head.Make the dropped strand its own section by dividing it into three sections.Cross the middle section over the top one.The bobby pin should be removed first.
Step 23: Before crossing it over, add hair to the bottom strand.
The hair should be behind the bottom strand.Cross the middle strand if you add it to the bottom strand.
Step 24: The next strand should be added to the top strand.
You can find the next strand from the waterfall braid.Cross both over the middle strand if you add it to the top strand.
Step 25: Continue braiding until you reach the back of your head.
Before crossing the middle strand, keep adding hair to the bottom strands. Before crossing them, add the waterfall strands to the top strands.Keep your stitches tight. When you reach the back of your head, braid it with another pin.
Step 26: On the right side of your head, braid another French braid.
Follow the same process as you did for the left side of your head if you remove the bobby pin first.Begin with a regular braid. When you get to the back of your head, braid it with another pin.
Step 27: Take your hair out and put it in a messy bun.
Put your hair in a high ponytail first and then put the pinned braids over it.Wrap a hair tie around it, twist your hair into a bun, and then wrap it around again and again. If possible, remove the pins when you're done.A different type of bun can be done, such as a half up, half down bun, or a ballerina bun.You can finish off with a plain ponytail. To hide the hair tie, wrap a strand of hair around the base of the ponytail. If you want the style to last longer, lightly mist it.
